Description

Wine Advocate #209 Oct 2013 Robert M. Parker, Jr .RATED 94 Drink: 2013 – 2023 The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet (96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot) is slightly better. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a floral nose revealing notes of blackberries, black currants, licorice and a touch of graphite. Full-bodied and rich with low acidity and sweet tannin, it is on a fast evolutionary track, so drink it over the next decade. This winery, which is located in the southern part of Napa Valley just off the Silverado Trail in the relatively obscure Soda Canyon area, has fared exceptionally well in 2011. It shows the upper end of how this vintage could fare from certain terroirs where they made a strict selection in the vineyard as well as in the winery. All four of these wines are top-notch efforts in this difficult vintage and Beau Vigne deserves plenty of recognition for what they have achieved. Score: 91 Country: California Region: Napa Issue: Oct 15, 2014 This combines richness with density, power and finesse, centered on a core of dark berry, mocha, loamy earth and crushed rock flavors. Turns supple midpalate and ends with chewy tannins. The flavors manage to push through in the end. Drink now through 2024. 533 cases made. JL
