Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Louer Family opens with cedar and underbrush notions, giving way to a core of crushed blackcurrants, blackberry pie and plum preserves plus touches of wild sage and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied, concentrated and densely packed with black fruit preserves and herbal sparks, it has a firm, grainy frame and just enough freshness, finishing long and savory. (LPB) (3/2019)
