Description
Barrel Chaser is a supple, plush and ripe wine from the start. It is quick to begin with a beautiful fragrance of red flower potpourri, cherry preserves, light mocha, espresso bean and cola berry. With time to open up, further brooding baking aromas of allspice, clove, cotton candy sugar, vanilla extract and nutmeg appear. The palate is bold and broad with tongue swirling flavors of dried cherry, currants, white pepper and hints of sweet tobacco. The tannins are firm and held snugly in place with a lace-up of vibrant acidity that carries the complexities of the mid palate to a lengthy finish with the taster wanting more. Overall the Barrel Chaser is a refined and very pleasurable wine that if cellared correctly I believe will serve well for 10 years or longer. 58% Merlot 28% Cabernet Sauvignon 14% Cabernet Franc Production: 373
